Rakesh Kumar started Lifesaver Foundation in the year 2021 with the aim of fulfilling the nutritional, health and educational needs of underprivileged children. I started Lifesaver Foundation with the help of my family and friends to fulfill my dream of seeing every poor child healthy and educated. We are starting a campaign for underprivileged children in the rural/slum equivalent of Hanumangarh (Rajasthan) with the aim of providing awareness to as many children as possible and increasing their intellectual awareness.
B. About the Objective
A large portion of people living in cities like Hanumangarh come from neighboring small towns and villages in search of livelihood. These underprivileged families fall below the poverty line and live on the streets and slums with limited resources. It is very difficult for them to send their children to school and buy the necessary study material or stationery.
We want to be the guide for such children who have the passion to learn and move forward but have no means so that they are not forced into child labor, early marriage, and violence and abuse.
C. Our Objective
Lifesaver foundation in another of its initiatives has taken up an educational drive and started a pre-school where these slum children aged between 3 to 12 years are provided with nutritious food along with opportunities for holistic growth. Our intention is to work on the social and emotional development of these underprivileged children who belong to labourer families, domestic maids, drivers and other street children who are in difficult situations..
The aim of this program is not only to support their education, but also offering them a safe and nurturing environment which shields them from negative influences and bad habits that are prevalent in slum areas, empowering them to make better choices and resist engaging in activities that may hinder their growth and development. We also ensure that these children receive nutritious meals contributing to their overall well-being and physical development, enabling them to concentrate better in school and enhance their learning potential.
We also educate these children about basic hygiene practices, such as handwashing, dental care, and personal cleanliness. This knowledge not only benefits the students directly but also extends its impact to their families, particularly working mothers.
We believe that even if few students are motivated and enrolled in school through our initiative, it would be a significant success, breaking the cycle of poverty and providing a brighter future for them and their families
D.Mode of Support
Even small contributions can help us sustain our educational drive for day-to-day running of the school. The overall cost breakup of this school set up is as follows for the whole year:
1. School fees of children = Rs. 4,60,000
2. Salary of 1 teaching Staff = Rs. 84,000 (7000 monthly)
3. Cost of Nutritional Food = Rs. 216,000 (18000 monthly)
4. Cost of shoe, uniform, books and other school material = 75,000
Total = Rs. 8,40,000
Your help will ensure that these children stay in school and complete their education. Any contribution matters a lot to us. All we want to do is to continue to provide support to these students and keep them off the streets so that they can have a chance at a future.
